Carwalo is an app for drivers who do not want to choose a touchless car wash by trial and error. You probably know the situation. You want to wash your car, open a map app, pick some random place, and drive there. Only when you arrive do you find out that you cannot pay by card, there is no active foam, there is no vacuum, or it is simply not the kind of car wash you were looking for.
Once in a while, it is not a big deal. When it happens more often, it turns into wasted time, extra driving, and another compromise. Carwalo was built so you can choose where to wash your car before you get there.
Choose by equipment, not by chance
The idea is simple. With a touchless car wash, it is not enough to know where it is. What it offers matters too.
Some drivers need card payment because they do not carry cash. Some are looking for active foam, wheel cleaner, or an insect remover. Others want to vacuum the interior after washing the car or use compressed air. In regular map apps, this information is often missing.
In Carwalo, these details are shown directly on the car wash profile. For each verified car wash, you can quickly see what is available.
Photos and practical details
Visual context helps when you are choosing a self-service car wash. That is why the app includes photos we take on site. They are not random pictures buried in user reviews. They are there to help you quickly understand what the place looks like, how many bays it has, and what equipment is available. Sometimes a photo tells you more than a list of features. Program names can also be unclear, because each manufacturer and each operator may describe the same thing differently.
When you open a car wash detail page, you can also see the address, opening hours when available, and other practical information, including contact details when they are available.
The detail page also includes the Google Maps rating and the Carwalo community rating. The Google rating is useful as a general signal. The Carwalo rating gives app users a way to leave feedback after visiting a specific car wash. You can rate the car wash by choosing a star rating, and you can also leave a written review.
Once you decide where you want to wash your car, one tap opens navigation with the destination already set.
Nearby washes and places you plan to visit
You can use Carwalo in two ways. If you want to wash your car right now, the Home screen shows touchless car washes near your current location. The higher a result appears in the list, the closer it is to you. Search on the Home screen works with the car wash name, address, and city. Like any search, it is only as good as the data available for that car wash.
If you are planning a trip to another city, you can open the Map page and search for a location there. Search works a little differently on the map. Enter the city name, tap the result, and the map will move to that location.
By default, the map pins show all touchless car washes. If you only want to see verified places with photos, you can turn on the filter in the top bar. Tap any pin to open the details for that car wash.
The filter is also useful when you need a car wash with a specific feature or piece of equipment, such as a cash change machine.
Wash diary
Carwalo does not have to be an app you open only right before washing your car.
You can also keep a wash diary and record when you washed your car. Then, when you go back a few days, weeks, or even months later, you can see how much time has passed. In winter, it is easy to put washing off and forget about it. That is also when regular washing matters, because road salt is not kind to your car.
The first time you open the Diary page, the app asks you to name your car. It can be a real name or just a nickname. If you have more than one car, you can add them later and keep a separate history for each one. That is useful for family cars and company cars.
Just washed your car and want to log it? Open Carwalo and tap Log wash. That is it. You can also add the price of the wash and later see how much you have spent on keeping your car clean.
The diary also has simple milestones. They are not a race or an obligation, just a small nudge to keep your car clean. Who knows, maybe you will earn the golden towel.
Washing guide
Not everyone uses a touchless car wash the same way. Some drivers have their own routine. Others are not sure when to use active foam, how long to let the chemicals work, or how to rinse the car so the result is better and the whole wash is more efficient.
That is why the app includes a practical washing guide. It is mainly for people who want to feel more confident about the process, but it can help more experienced drivers too. A wrong order, or washing the car in direct sun on hot paint, can easily change the result. It is also worth remembering that water pressure from the lance can reach around 130 bar. That is enough force to damage older paint. If your car is 20 years old, be more careful and hold the wash gun a little farther away.
Washing a car well, without unnecessary stress, is not always obvious. There are also risks with self-service washing, so it helps to know at least the basics of the right process.
Weather inside the app
Anyone who washes their car regularly has probably had this happen. You finally decide to wash it properly, and that same day the rain arrives, ideally with a generous dose of Saharan dust. The car is dirty again. Then, of course, not a drop of rain for the next two weeks.
When you have already found a car wash in the app and opened its detail page, you can also check our simplified weather view with one tap. It shows only the chance of precipitation and the expected amount. That makes it easier to decide whether washing the car now makes sense, or whether it is better to wait a few hours.
The goal is not to make car washing complicated. Quite the opposite.
Who Carwalo is for
Carwalo is for people who want a clean car but do not want to discover basic details only after they arrive. It is for drivers who use touchless car washes regularly, and also for those who only need one from time to time in an unfamiliar city. It is also for people who think they already know every car wash nearby, then find a new one that becomes their favorite.
The app currently covers car washes in Slovakia. The database keeps improving, and user feedback is an important part of that. When you leave a rating after visiting a car wash or report missing or incorrect information, you help other drivers too.
We wish you sunny weather, as little Saharan dust as possible, and clean cars.
